You’re Beautiful To Me!

6 Apr

It is so great to be in the company of women who are devoted wives & mothers! Women who not only strive to “teach” their children how to be wonderful creations of God, but actually practice those principals themselves. I’ve known so many women that honestly & truly try with their children… but I’ve learned something about parenting recently… it doesn’t matter how many times a day you sit & do ABC’s & flashcards with your child, if you are out having an affair on your own time. Children learn more from the same sex parent than anyone else in life. That is a MAJOR responsibility we bare! Women have affairs, or have bad language, or bad attitudes because we think that OUR personal actions don’t effect our children, but they have more impact on them than we are really aware of…. even things that we do that we think have nothing to do with our children.

The point of this rambling was just to recognize what beautiful, strong, selfless women I’ve been blessed to be around in these past 7 months. They’ve taught me more about my legacy than my “parenting skills”… & I’m really understanding the difference & the great importance in the 2. Anyone can practice “good” parenting skills, but still live immoral, destructive lives right in front of their children… & the choices we make in our everyday lives & behavior, as an individual (not necessarily as a parent), is absolutely our legacy… for our children, & our grand-children. It has generational effects! We’ve been learning the link to all kinds of things, whether healthy or unhealthy, stems from a generational bond… from poverty, to drug use, etc. How about being a woman after God’s heart, a woman of dignity, of devotion to her husband, of strength, of perserverance….. does that not have generational effects??

So for all of you women (Kim Mitchell, Tabitha, Jenn Tobler, Pastor Connie, Nichole, Lori) that have taught me so much about how to live a life that leaves a great legacy for my children, thank you! You are incredible mentors & role models for me, to in turn be incredible role models for my children. You’re changing a generation!… & you’re so beautiful to me

Wow, what a great read. It is so true that we are the ones leaving the legacy to our children. We are the ones to “show” them.

aaw- what an awesome lady you are too! — i know how you feel 100%though, and- especially with so many babies on the way, so many new moms, and soon to be moms- what a great place to raise a family! living word is such a supporting and amazing environment for learning to CREATE that legacy that youre talking about

jenn talked once in her blog about how a lot of our generation has already grown up in the church together, and i think – how amazing is it going to be when all of our children have grown up together, and we are raising them with to be such strong people in the Lord?!?!? i think its great; and i think you are great too! =)
